Wild Ones American Bald Eagles The only eagle native to America, the Bald Eagle is revered by Native American culture, where it's primary and tail feathers are use ceremoniously, and is a well known symbol of American pride. It's name comes from old English, where "bald" actually meant white and not hairless. 140,000 individuals are thought to reside in the wild, and half of those live in Alaska, munching on salmon. |
